Cat Collar

Cat collars are one of the accessories and cat supplies that were made to train our cats and help them exercise. It can be frustrating trying to get your pets to wear these collars especially when you attach a leash to it. Like other pets, cats need to be trained so that they could be well-domesticated. Taking your cat for a daily walk can help sharpen their claws and well-equip them for hunting. If you are new to training your cat using a cat collar then here are some steps that can help you have fun as you go along.

1. Often show your cat the collars and cat supplies you have purchased. Since cats are naturally curious, they will immediately try to find out if an item will benefit them or not. Once they seem to view the collar in a positive way, try putting it on around the cat's neck and observe its reaction. Of course at first your pet might try to scratch or lick the thing off. It is best if you let your pet wear the collar at least an hour a day.

2. After a few days of following step one, you can now try and fasten a leash if you want to use one. You can now try walking your cat inside the house. Again, you do this one hour a day, for a few weeks.

3. Once your cat seems to have gotten used to the collar, try walking it both indoors and outdoors. This time, try pulling on the leash gently to indicate a certain direction you want your pet to go. Nudge the leash a little harder if your cat still refuses to take your orders. Your pulls should be strong enough but should also be gentle enough not to strangle your pet. For this reason it is recommended to use breakaway cat collars.

These are three easy steps that you can follow for about a few weeks or months. Soon you will watch your pet grow in love with its collar.
